sound is surprisingly good for the investment. However - I sure wish I could find some sort of case/ accessory so I could clip it to my belt.. It's kind of awkward that way..

So far I have no sufficient complaints, and am QUITE surprisingly impressed! I really thought this RCA player would be like getting a generic brand... but I was wrong! When I placed the DSP (equalizer) on ROCK mode, and used the same MP3's and headphones as other players the sound was FANTASTIC! (not tried with the supplied headphones yet) I couldn't believe it. The bass and stereo separation quality were worth the purchase alone!

If you're looking for a better-sounding alternative to the Sansa Express, the RCA Pearl does the trick--but be prepared to deal with a funky user interface and disposable batteries.

Good quality construction, easy and simple operation, takes a short while to sort out your preference settings. The excellent sound quality can only be appreciated through good quality ear buds, or connection to a decent sound system. Excellent visual presentation on the screen. Battery life is outstanding, take into account fiddling with settings scrolling through files etc, It does what it says on the tin. Very pleased with my purchase and would reccomend this player to anyone, would have five stars if it had been a bit lower priced for 8GB.

The Cowon iAudio 7 beats the industry heavyweight iPod Nano in price, features, battery life, and sound quality. The user interface could use some refinement, but all-in-all this is a very impressive MP3 player.

I've never used a smartphone or Windows Mobile before so I can't say if WM6 is any improvement. I was surprised to find while editing my contacts that there is no copy and paste function. I was able to find an add on application but it seems a rather strange thing not to include in a smartphone. The phone feels solid and rugged and is surprisingly heavy for it's size. But considering all that's packed into so small a space and the long battery life it's an extra weight I can handle. The lack of 3G doesn't bother me since I mainly use the data connection for email which EDGE is fine for. The smaller sized screen isn't that great for viewing web pages anyway. WiFi works well and connects to my home access point faster than my laptop.

Regarded as a PDA, the HTC S710 is neat and petite – but slightly heavier than it looks. Six months ago we took a look at another HTC handset that was a smartphone proper and we found its standard phone keypad easier to use than this. Still, the HTC S710's is a neat design. And we've seen sufficient numbers of its predecessor adopted by business users to believe it will be well received.

Overall, I am quite happy with the S710, which has replaced my Cingular 3125 as my everyday phone. It's small and flashy enough to be used as a personal phone, and functional enough for my business needs. I give it a score of 7.8 out of a possible 10.

The HTC S710 is one of the best all-purpose smartphone's available. The improved enterprise features coupled with the already existing multimedia functionality would offer most working professionals a complete feature set for their work and personal needs. Microsoft shops will enjoy the improved integration of Exchange which cannot be found on BlackBerry devices. If messaging is a much higher priority than voice, and the tighter Exchange integration is not required, the BlackBerry devices should be considered given their superior input capabilities.

Even if nothing else can be said about the HTC S710, the device still has one distinct advantage over most Windows Mobile smartphones: if you are looking for a device with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, there really is no competition at the moment. Thankfully, HTC has not rested on its laurels and has instead produced a device that, while making a few mistakes, is overall wonderful to use. While the keyboard could do with a little tweaking, and the lack of 3G data is surely a disappointment, almost every other facet of the S710 is marvelous.
