    • Journi - a good offering

      334 days ago | ilounge.com

It’s a good thing, then, that Journi’s priced more aggressively than both of these peers: for the $130 asking price, it delivers a bit more in features—particularly in charging and synchronization options—than the current crop of mm50s, and includes a case, which is absent from the iM600. Overall, we’d be inclined to recommend the mm50 instead on sound, and the iM600 if you need a radio or superior styling, but its combination of features and good battery life make Journi a good enough offering to quality for our general recommendation. On sound quality, we’d put it closer to the flat B range, but we think that its charging versatility, smart magnetic remote, and aggressive pricing make it a closer competitor to the mm50 and iM600 than that. You can make the call as to which system’s feature set and pricing best meets your personal needs and sonic tastes.

    • Excellent Home Theatre in a box.

I originally purchased a Sony upconverting DVD player to hook up to my new Panasonic plasma TV. But, when I hooked the DVD player up to my five year old surround sound system all I heard was a buzzing sound through the speakers. The picture was excellent but not the sound. So I returned the Sony and purchased the Panosonic system. It was out of the box and set up within 30 minutes. Great sound and the upconverted DVD picture quality is incredible. The only thing I dont like is that you can't changethe speaker wires.

    • Great value, everything you need plus some good features

The SC-PT650 system's strengths are its high-resolution DVD up-conversion, iPod Dock, and sound quality. My DVDs look great on my Panasonic TH-50PX75U HDTV, which doesn't even make full use of the DVD player's maximum 1080p up-conversion. The iPod Dock is a convenient add-on, and you can even do some iPod controls by remote (skipping and pausing). Lastly, sound quality was great, especially for a budget system (not that I have much experience with anything other than budget systems). The only drawback is the lack of video inputs, but I don't think this should be a problem because any TV requiring a home theater system of this quality should also have plenty of video inputs, so you can just hook up a game system directly to the TV. Also, the iPod Dock works only with the 30 and 60 GB video iPods, and the aluminum iPod nano. Any others will require a small adapter.

    • Spend a little more, and get something better

Sounds ok, but the menu interface is horrible. You need to have it hooked up to the tv to go through the menu, which means you have to change the input on your tv to this system to change anything in the menu. No EQ settings, nor any other adjustments.Basically, you're better off spending a little more and getting a samsung or sony or any other theatre systems. All this system has going for it is the looks and size and ok sound quality.

    • Great Sound & Clear Picture

      334 days ago | circuitcity.com

i have a samsung LCD HD TV and been looking for a budget-friendly home theater system. This samsung home theater system is a perfect match with my TV. Sound is excellent in high notes and bass as well-much better than i expectd. I compared this to Panasonic and Sony at a CC store, and almost every sides of this unit was better than the other two. I am very happy with this unit. however, the only downside is remote control which would get me spend time to get used.
