This is an absolute must. Easily organizes and put the items into catagories. It even knows the vendors. This thing is amazing. It knows where to put the information into the desinated fields. I only had to add a few of my vendors to it's list. It even knew some of the vendors without barcodes....Absolute a must buy item!

Is it time to throw away your receipt-filled shoeboxes? Possibly. According to the company, scanned receipts are good enough for the IRS, so you don't need to hold on to the originals, and we think that the quality of these scans is good enough to serve its purpose. The NeatReceipts Scanalizer 2.5 triumphs as the best storage system for all your important documents.

What I Like: Fast and High-resolution scanning; Compact size and USB connector; Multi-purpose use (business cards, documents, receipts); Variety of report options; Reduces data entry; Paperless account of expenses; Compiles sales tax to deduct on your taxes. What Needs Improvement: OCR does not always read receipts; Not compatible with Vista, Windows 98, or Windows ME; Slow initial start-up, due to MSDE; Ability to feed multiple documents.

The scanner works great but the process is slow. We just got a scanner at work and its easier to scan documents in it and just store the images in folders like a file cabinet. The file system is not easy to navigate and there is no drop and drag ability. For small receitps like from the gas station its easier to scan but then the items are stored in the scanners own format and its not that easy to get them out or export them. If had it to do again would not purchase.

The ease and convenience of this aptly named scanalizer makes NeatReceipts a must have for business travelers, sales people, business owners, and even for personal household managers. The price under $250 makes it affordable and perfect for tax prep, expense reports and business cards, the NeatReceipts SCANALIZER is the ideal solution to fight back against paper clutter.

Overall the scan quality is good and being the scanner is powered off the USB port you do not need to carry around additional power cables and it can be stored out of site when not needed.

NeatReceipts scans receipts and keeps track of expenses—which may (or may not) let you throw out the physical receipts. And it's a good choice for business-card scanning too.

I haven't used this scanner very long yet, and haven't had the time yet to try scanning slides. However what little I have scanned so far, I'm very pleased with. This scanner is quiet and fast compared to my previous Canon D1250 scanner. The scanner also feels very well built. Its heavy and even has an on/off switch, which my previous two scanners never had. I prefer having and on/off switch. There is also a thin blue light that lights up on the cover when the power is on.

I highly recommend this scanner: just be sure to put it through all the paces soon after getting it to make sure all the features work. I scanned in about 200 honeymoon slides. One of the best features is the ability to get ride of dust up front, saving HOURS of getting each dust spot off each dusty slide. This feature pays for the scanner in saved time.
