    • Nice

This camcorder is a very nice unit for the average family who wants to record directly onto mini dvd's. I found the picture and sound quality are good, it is a sony after all. Also, I only buy rw-dvd, because you can erase the taped stuff you don't want, then burn it to a regular dvd & keep using the rw-mini dvd's to help cut down on the cost.

This is a very nice camcorder. I have not used the digital picture yet as I have a nice sony camera. so far I have record several events on the dvd rw disc which record 30 minutes in SP mode and 60min in LP. I have recorded everything in LP and the quality has been nice. The 5:1 stereo surround sound is very nice. It is lightweight. I had no problems getting the videos onto the computer and transferred to a dvd. each recording disc hold 1.7 GB of information and the DVD's are 4.7. so oyu can fit a lot of information on a disc. I have not edited video. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I bought it on the day it was released back I beleive it was 3/07. Get one you'll love it.

I like it. I have no problems with transferring videos to the computer. Video quality is crisp and clear. Battery life is about 1 hour I will be purchasing an addtional battery soon. I like the night shot mode. I recorded a school play and it turned out very clear sound quality was superb in. Nice to be able to take digtial snapshots while in record mode. Picture quality is good. I was able to fit 3 dvd+rw disc onto one dvd. I have not tried editting video inforamtion. This camera is perfect for families who want nice quality videos of chidren's school performaces, vacations, family times. I am very happy with the purchase.

    • Works well enough

The MicroTrack is fairly easy to operate, and records with good sound quality. I wish it had a strap or cover or something, as the surface is a hard, smooth plastic which is easy to drop. The ergonomics are a little off, as I can't reach the main function control button and the record button with the same hand without fumbling, but I have smaller-sized hands. It does take a long time to boot up, and the manual is fairly unhelpful. Nevertheless, it does what it's supposed to do--record sound--with reasonably high quality, in a portable format.

    • Portable and powerful

Battery usage is quite good. I had to listen to my player at bedtime, and I ended up having it on from 12 midnight until 6:30 AM. I had to use it for class the following day. I recorded my lesson for an hour and it worked flawlessly, without having to recharge right away. If you are a musician or music professional, this is your recorder. Can be taken anywhere!

    • Digital Recorder

I am enjoying the quality of sound it produces. It is far superior to a tape recorder. I had an issue where it indicated that my media is full. I thought I couldn't record and it was a brand new cartridge. I have since found that it says that once I format the cartridge and I must ignore it and press the record button again. The software "Audacity" that is provided with it is difficult to use. It may be partially my lack of knowledge of the recording industry terms and processes. I have downloaded music I recorded and have intermittently been successful with editing and then saving the wav file to a cd. The directions have not been complete enough for my level of expertise.

    • It is easy to use

The recorder is amazingly flexible given its size. It features several input options, including external mic inputs with phantom power, and the biggest surprise, an S/PDIF digital input. Outputs are limited to the mini headphone jack and a stereo pair of RCA plugs, but the very nature of these devices reduces the need for elaborate output interfacing, in most cases one will connect the unit to a computer, or remove the memory card and use a card-reader to transfer files to a computer for later editing. The best news is that at its most basic, the machine is extremely easy to use, with all the major controls readily accessible from the top, with hardware buttons, not buried in menus or controlled by soft switches.
