Overall, this is one of the most versatile and satisfying players out there; the battery life alone is worth the price. You’ll get a lot more out of the D2 if you know what you’re doing. Battery life is one of the D2’s biggest wins: It will play audio for around 50 hours and video for 8 to 10 hours–very impressive on both counts. The only thing better would be if the battery were removable.

Cowon's D2 has the most stylish yet functional user interfaces I've seen on a mobile device and one that makes the most of the gorgeous screen it's display on. The battery life's fantastic, and so is the scope for sound enhancement the D2 includes. The only problem is the price which is as hefty as the D2 is lithe.

The tiny D2 is nothing to write home about, but it does have a few things the iPod nano doesn't—like a 2.5-inch screen and an SD card slot.

If you can get on board with the Cowon D2's PDA-like touch screen interface, the reward is great-sounding audio, a smorgasbord of features, and a fantastic battery life.

I can only really conclude that the Cowon D2 is an excellent Digital Audio Player with a ton of extremely useful features. The battery life literally kicks ass, the sound quality is excellent, and the additional features are more than just playful additions.

The Cowon D2 packs a lot of functionality into one very small device. It offers superb battery life and some powerful audio and video chops. The company's name might not ring a bell, but this is one of the best flash-based PMPs yet. The nano is still the best flash-bashed music player, but if you want the ability to play video and an ultra-light design, we say give the identically priced Cowon D2 a hard look. Its intuitive touchscreen interface, long battery life, and excellent sound quality make it a compelling PMP.

No hiccups or problems. This has been a great investment. If you want to watch a Blu-Ray disc on a 17" it's perfect, the Full HD 1080 monitor can handle it with ease! Games do very well also! All the bells and whistles and no regrets.(No TV) Sony packed power and video into a small package of impressive PUNCH! If you don't like carrying weight, this isn't for you. It's gravity lends to it's workhorse quality! Get a good extended battery, it eats voltage.

If you want to hook this up to a TV and watch BD movies, the TV must have a High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compliant HDMI connection. Apparently this is a secret because you can't find this on Amazon's description or on Sony's website specifications. It also seems to be quite difficult to determine if a TV is HDCP compliant, so call the manufacturer if you can't find it in a specification sheet or in the manual. I think this is a great laptop.

Sony's latest big-screen multimedia machine is a high-def delight that justifies its high price with smooth Blu-ray playback, a bundled CableCard-ready TV tuner, and enough oomph for gamers. If you're willing to stomach the $3,299 price tag, the Sony VAIO VGN-AR590E is a fantastic multimedia notebook. The tiny mouse buttons are annoying, but this is a high-definition entertainment system with style and power to spare.
