    • It's better then I thought it would be.....

      503 days ago | amazon.com

I bought this from a local electronic retailer. I had to buy a new Projection TV because my old one was finally ready for the trash heap. But after shopping around and looking into price verses features I liked this Hitachi the best I even looked in the stores and on the web. But only after plugging up this model did I see how bad my old one really was! This TV blew me away right out of the box. Now this TV is a CRT but delivers a awesome picture and the HDTV Is even better. If you have or use an antenna you can actually pick up HDTV Channels with this model for free and even some DTV this has a HDTV tuner as well as a Analog tuner all though this TV may not be as good as a DLP Or LCD. CRT's are more reliable And Trust worthy. The picture is so great and so close you'd never know the difference between this and it's other counter parts on the market. My buddy down the block has a LCD and he paid about 6 times what this CRT cost me and he now wishes he had bought this model instead. Some sales man told him in stead buy a LCD it was a better picture but he swears he can't see where it is so go figure. Now the sound on this model is ok. But not the greatest if your looking for the "Movie Theater experience" then your gonna want to buy a Surround Sound System as well I mean you did just drop the dough for a great TV why not go ahead and buy your self some awesome sound and have a TV room all your friends and family will want to be at during the game or even just to watch a great movie. Hope this review helps you in your buying as far as I am concerned I am a totally happy consumer and the TV is far better then I thought it would be?.

    • Best for Quality, Price and Features !!

The whole unit is on wheels which is an amazing feature. It's effortless to move it for cleaning and attaching new devices. It has composite, component and s-video inputs. As well as optical audio out, and rca audio out. You can use the TV speakers as your center speaker if your surround sound receiver supports it. Using the component inputs to attach devices to the TV gives the sharpest picture I have ever seen on a big screen TV, I think it's even better than the $4000 plasma screens I've seen.

    • This TV is remarkably easy to use !!

The Magic Focus feature works fairly well for automatically converging the CRT "guns." They still need a little tweaking, but not much at all. Another favorite feature is the day/night mode which allows you to set up 2 different picture settings on each input, allowing for the best picture quality in different lighting conditions. You can toggle between your day and night settings with the push of a single button. Also, the split-screen option on the PIP (Picture-in-Picture) is a welcome feature. The use of all the features on this tv are remarkably easy to use.

    • Great TV for the price

      503 days ago | reviews.cnet.com

I have been pricing TV for several months, couldn't find a console TV, and didn't really want to get one as big as 51". But New Years Day a local retailer had a sale and a price I couldn't refuse. I got this set for $677. I compared picture quality to plasmas and lcd and actually like this better. So far no complaints on this end. My sister has an HD set from another manufacturer and I don't like the picture on it. Makes me nauseas to watch as the people are short and squatty. Mine is many times better and was many dollars cheaper!!!

    • Simple and Handy

To use the NVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles you simply turn a small knob (Right side - center) and they come on in a matter of seconds. Remove the lens cover and look into the goggles. After a few seconds you can adjust the lenses to the desired focus. The right and left lens can be focused independently. The closer the object is, the sharper the image will be. I found the NVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles to be pretty sharp from about 10 feet to 150 feet. Beyond 150 feet, the sharpness and focus drops rapidly. You can still see things like vehicles and gun fire. You can also use the infa / red. The infa red gives you a different look into the darkness. TheNVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles also offer several different lens powers. The more powerful the optic, the more expensive they are. This NVG comes with an X1 lens. You can purchase X4 and even an X8 lens if you desire. My set of NVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles came in handy more times than I care to mention. The NVG?s are life savers in a combat zone. It has been said that the U.S. military owns the dark and that is a fact. For example one night while our camp came under fire my QRF team headed outside the wire to locate and engage the enemy mortar crew. We drove out in our gunship with our head lights off in pitch black conditions. About ¼ a mile outside of the wire we spotted a four man mortar team firing mortars and rockets into our camp. We were about 400 feet away and they had no clue that we were there. On the other hand we could see the enemy, as plain as day.

    • NVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles are pretty durable

The NVS ? 7.2 Night Vision Goggles are pretty durable. I know my set went through hell while I was serving in Iraq. I had my NVG?s either on my Kevlar or attached to my assault pack which bounced around in the back of my gunship (a vehicle that has two S.A.W.?s and a 50 Caliber machine gun). The gunship is called out when there is any trouble. The only problem that I had with my NVG?s was the rubber eye pieces would fall off. I would imagine that if a person was using these goggles in the civilian world, they?d last a very long time. Soldiers live with these NVG?s 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and they only needed new batteries about once a week. If you are using these NVG?s on a nightly basis, you?ll need a set of AA batteries about every five days.

    • Infrared Night Vision Device

      503 days ago | dealtime.com

This monocular isn't really a light amplifying device like an image intensifier. It is essentially a B&W low-light CMOS camera, like you might find in a video security system, with an LCD display viewfinder and two infrared (IR) illuminators. Like most CMOS cameras, it is sensitive to near IR, so it is more an IR viewer than a low-light viewer. While this unit provides some light gain, if you want to view something out of range of the built-in illuminators, you'd be better off with 7x50 binoculars. The high-power IR spotlight on the unit really will illuminate a spot up to 500 feet away, with emphasis on SPOT. This illuminator will not fill the full field of view, but shows as a bright circle on the image. The low power illuminator can not be turned off, which may cause nearby objects to be bright enough to interfere with distant viewing.
