AM/FM radios are fixtures in just about every house in America, but Tivoli Audio's Model Satellite has raised the bar by combining an AM/FM radio with Sirius Satellite Radio, all in an attractive tabletop unit. In addition to Sirius, this small radio is a fine traditional radio receiver, using the same components as Tivoli's popular Henry Kloss-designed Model One (and Two and Three) radios.

The Visioneer XACT XTR8CK Sirius radio works really well, the fm transmitter is very strong. It's nice to know, it's one of the few radio's that actually receives the whole line-up as you are meant to receive! A lot of the sirius radio's don't get past ch184, and thus you are missing 5 channels.The unit is very easy to use.

This is my first Sirius receiver. The FM transmitter on the new receivers is so weak, you will most likely need to wire it to what's known as an 'FM Modulator Relay' to your car stereo unless it has an auxiliary input. This is important to know!! My favorite feature is the fact that I can pause or rewind. It's like having Tivo for your radio, and it's the reason I chose this receiver. Also, you can program this unit with your favorite artist, song, sports team, or whatever. It will alert you when any of your favorites are on the air on any channel.

If you hotkey your stuff and navigate channels with the big button then this system should be great. It also runs a continiuous 45 minute buffer of all you listen too, so if you need to you can pause a broadcast for a few minutes, and pickup where you left off. It's really nice to have a radio that you don't have to tune and where all channels come in clear, nice to have lots of talk radio choices at your fingertips.

This unit is small enough to make transferring it from the home docking station to my car a breeze. Sound quality is exactly as advertised -- CD quality all the way, both when wired directly into my stereo at home and when using the FM transmitter with the stock radio in my Saturn L300.
