Great tv upgraded from a 50' Sony SXRD.This Samsung Tv is alot better than the Sony SXRD.Better depth in colors and alot more brighter.Sound from tv is okay.Has 3 HDMI imputs which is a plus.Add a Samsung BLU RAY 1080P Dvd Player.With a monster surge protector clean power stage 2 model and a monster HDMI cable.You will not belive the pix very clean with tons of detail.You have to get a monster cable surge protector with stage 2 clean power for this tv.Not only will it help with the pix.But it will also help regulate the power going to the tv.So your led bulb will last a lifetime.

I also had problems with the sensor on the TV not working (the remote worked fine on the DVD player but not the TV). I took the remote with me back to the store, it worked on their floor model so they swapped out the TV and the new one worked great.

Everything about this TV is amazing. The Picture quality, brightness, colors, sound... everything. Also, you don't have to ever worry about changing bulbs.

The Samsung HL-T5687S Rear Projection HDTV is one of the top performers in the DLP rear projection class. It does have a few negatives but its positives like the LED light source completely makes up for it. If searching for a rear projection in this size and price range, you probably won’t find anything better than the Samsung HL-T5687S DLP rear projection HDTV.

The HL-T5687S provides excellent picture quality with 1080p (1920×1080 pixel resolution) HD and very deep black levels with accurate colors, and no rainbow effect which is common to DLP sets. The Samsung HL-T5687S is also “3D Ready� for future 3D media, and offers a very large HDTV at a very reasonable price. Cnet have reviewed the HL-T5687S and say, overall, the HL-T5687S delivered a solid, deep shade of black, and the letterbox bars and dark areas of the image appeared every bit as inky as the Samsung plasma, and darker than the other two plasmas we had on hand. The Samsung HL-T5687S looked every bit as sharp as the 1080p Pioneer plasma and, frankly, as the lower-resolution Samsung and LG plasmas next to it.

Although we couldn't quite ignore its uneven screen uniformity, the Samsung HL-T5687S still makes a compelling alternative to flat-screen wallet-busters at this size.

This exceeded our expectations. After looking at all kinds of TV's from Plasma, LCD and DLP we chose the DLP and are very pleased with our choice. Perfect fit and great resolution, color, and quality. Packaged extremely well.

We were amazed by the quality of the product, awesome picture, and excellent reception. Picture quality is better than LCD projection. We use a regular antenna for both SD and HD in-the-air program. The antenna was from Terk w/o amplifier or tuner. We are happy with this TV.

Great tv. The dlp's are so light compared to my old big screen. One thing I have noticed is that the hd reciver changes channels twice as fast if not more than my friends hd tv's. You don't have to wait as long for the new channel to come up, it's there in 2 secounds. Regular cable tv looks great but the local hd stations i pick up with a cheep best buy antenna look amazing.

If you are shopping for a big-screen HDTV but don't have the budget for a plasma or a 55-inch rear-projection set, the Samsung HL-S4266W is a smart alternative. This 42-inch DLP model is an excellent compromise of size, technology and price.
