The C4280 comes with the printer, one black and one tri color ink cartridge, driver CD, power cord with power supply and all kinds of paperwork and pamphlets. Connecting the All-in-One device was very easy and setup for my Windows XP computer was hassle free but not for my Vista system.

HP tries to offer the most basic users an inexpensive all-in-one with the Photosmart C4280 multifunction printer, but we find that for roughly the same price, you can get an all-in-one with more compelling features and better print quality.

The HP Photosmart C4280 is not the prettiest or fastest all-in-one in this roundup, nor does it print the best photos. It's not the cheapest either, and yet it's the only one without PictBridge and it doesn't offer optional Bluetooth. But it is the sleekest and most attractive of the bunch. And it handles basic printing and scanning just fine, which, at $99, could be just what the everyday business user wants. It would be best for a small office that needs good photos on regular paper, say for real estate purposes. It's fast enough for most uses but won't impress anyone with its speed.

The Canon Pixma MP460 is a minor update to the MP450. We still like its print quality but were disappointed by its scans. Still, it's one of our top choices for a photo-centric budget all-in-one.

A large, bulky printer that doesn't have anything special going for it. Scans well, but all other options are a pain to use. Prints are mediocre quality.

After reading review after review of printers in my price range I finally decided on this printer. I am extremely impressed. Quality of ouput is amazing. Ease of use astonishing. It's only drawback is it is a "color ink eater", but what printer out there isn't?? I would highly recommend this printer!

I have used all of the features, scanning, photo printing, copying. It works fine for me. It was affordable and the photos turn out great. It is quiet and works fast enough for me. Ink is easier to find than was for my previous Epson Photo Stylus. It also takes up less space. I'm very happy with it. I use it with my Mac. Oh, and I read a good review on this on Consumer Reports, this is why I purchased it to begin with.

My husband bought this for me this past Christmas. Being an eBay seller, this is great for printing all those mailing labels. Being a thermal printer, it uses no ink like my desktop printer does. Labels are much less expensive, you dont have to print out a page full, as with the desktop printer. No complaints so far.

We've long known that the inkjet manufacturers are making their money off of ink cartridges - now we know how they plan to make money off the low cost label printers - the labels.

labels average about $.03 each. Easy to set up. First program I've found that lets you clip a barcode from this program and paste it (as a bitmap)into Word. Nice to use computer instead of tiny keyboard as other PTouch. Irritation: it loads macros into all MS Office programs and security warnings go off every time you boot computer and open the applications! Otherwise, I love it.
