    • This is the game hardcore fans have been asking for

      saved by jeff | amazon.com

Overall, though, the base game of Dance Dance Revolution is the best game concept to come along in years, and it boils down to the question of, "Is it still fun to stomp on arrows in time to music?" The answer is yes, it still is, and this game provides the expected annual song update? But my advice would be to scrap the home games altogether, and get out there and play in the arcade. It's a lot more satisfying.

    • Great fun for the whole family, plenty of new songs

      saved by jeff | pricegrabber.com

Dance Dance Revolution supernova game for the PS2 is great entertainment and this game gives you a great workout. It has all the DDR features plus Eye Toy feature. Up to 70 songs to chose from. The songs are once again extremely difficult on the higher levels, so most gamers won't be able to take them on unless they are hardcore fans of the series.

    • SuperNOVA is mostly more of the same

      saved by jeff | gamespot.com

While beginners will be able to use the tutorials to get up to speed, at this point, it's hard to imagine someone picking up DDR for the first time and falling in love with it the same way people did eight years ago. If you're still hooked on DDR, this is a quality installment that you might actually hate, depending on how you feel about the song list. So give that song list a long, hard look, and use that to make your final decision.

    • It is still quite a fun foot-stomper of a game

      saved by jeff | gamedaily.com

Although the groundwork looks familiar, Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA is still quite a fun foot-stomper of a game. The various modes, while nothing new, are a blast; the new Stellar Master Mode will keep DDR veterans busy; and the presentation and song list are still on the mark, despite some change-ups. Anyone can criticize DDR for being too much, but maybe the best option is to just shut up and dance.

    • Still as much fun to play as the first

      saved by onlinedavid | cnet.com.au

An expanded song list, great multiplayer and the introduction of a much needed practice mode all add up to make Guitar Hero II a worthy sequel. While the songs themselves may not be as fun to play as the first, Guitar Hero II is still a must have title for this holiday season.

    • Great game, but lacking in some areas.

      saved by onlinedavid | amazon.com

Overall I still highly recommend this game. Despite the issues listed above it's still a great game that will keep you addicted for many hours, especially with the new cooperative mode. I hope that if Harmonix plans to release another game that they change the gameplay a bit more to keep the veterans interest. Rock on.

    • It's more than a batch of new songs

      saved by onlinedavid | ps2.ign.com

Guitar Hero II takes everything that made the original game great and cranks it up to 11, maybe even 12. The Practice mode and ability to set individual difficulty levels in multiplayer are fantastic additions that really were our two biggest sticking points last time out. The Cooperative multiplayer is a huge amount of fun, and three buttons chords help take the game's challenge to the next level. RedOctane once again nailed down a fantastic song list, Wave Group Studio again recreated them expertly and Harmonix implemented the tracks perfectly. This is the nearly-perfect sequel to one of our favorite games in basically forever, and it's an absolute must-buy.

    • Great soundtrack; new Practice mode

      saved by onlinedavid | ps2.gamespy.com

And you should buy Guitar Hero II. It's more than a batch of new songs -- it's got every feature we wanted in the original, plus some we never thought of, letting you fulfill those fantasies of being a rock god (or perhaps inspiring them). It's everything good about video games in one package, forever encouraging you to play "one more song!" until it's 3 a.m. and the neighbors are yelling for you to turn down that racket. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a Buckethead song to beat. Rock on.

    • Guitar Hero II brings the rock heavier and faster

      saved by onlinedavid | gamespot.com

Without a doubt, Guitar Hero II brings to the table an impressive package. The new multiplayer modes are plenty of fun, the song list is gigantic, and the practice mode is going to very much come in handy as you navigate the trials and tribulations of metal songs with 11 guitar solos and nine-minute rock epics. The only thing that makes GH II inherently less impressive than the first game is simply that its track list doesn't make the same incredible impression that the first game's did, even with these songs' greater level of challenge.
