Appealing ultra compact model
The Nikon Coolpix S200 is an appealing ultra-compact model, with easy to use features, good image quality and performance, all packaged in a very compact and stylish shell. With a street price of US$249 or less, the S200 offers a good value for such a capable little digicam. Therefore, if you're one who is on the market for a camera that can be tucked away almost anywhere and shoots nice photos without much fuss, be sure to take a good look a this model.

Nice size and display but disappointed with the image
I bought one from Costco and already returned it after one week. 50% of the pictures taken outdoor were blurred, maybe from handshake. The VR is probably not effective per Hiram's review. Otherwise, it is pretty nice and solid camera. The video quality is pretty good. Interface is good. I just found out another colleague had bought one too and he is complaining about the blurred image issue. I am now considering the Nikon S50.

Disappointing camera from Nikon
A disappointing compact camera from Nikon, the Coolpix S200 has numerous imaging issues which mean that it's smooth, stylish design isn't enough to make it an attractive option.

Good quality from small camera
Surprisingly-good quality from such a small camera. Easy to use although lacking in manual control.

Interesting features
The S200 has some interesting features and produces some good results as a point and click camera. It is also stylishly designed and compact enough to take just about anywhere. Colour renditions are generally every accurate, and the macro mode produces some good results. Overall, a good quality camera with a good value and affordable price tag.

Good choice for pros/serious amateurs
The S200 is a very good choice for pros/serious amateurs looking for a quick and responsive pocket camera, weight/size conscious travelers/campers/bikers/hikers, folks who like trendy techno-toys, and casual photographers who want a camera compact enough to take along everywhere they go.

Overall excellent image quality
The S200’s small built-in flash is great as a workaday fill-in for daylight shots but is underpowered for anything more than close-to shots when the light levels drop off. Image quality is excellent overall, particularly at the lower ISO 50 and 100 settings. Over ISO 200, it’s good as noise starts to creep into images up to ISO 400 after which noise is obvious at ISO 800 and ISO 1000. Barring a little barrel distortion (at the wide end of the zoom) and some slight purple fringing, the S200 takes detailed, crisp pictures.

Pretty looks
The Nikon Coolpix S200 digital camera looks pretty and will fit almost anywhere, but it just doesn't take very good photos.

Nikon has created very nice camera
1 out of 1 users found this review usefulNikon has created a very nice 6-megapixel entry-level model. It's compact, offers great image quality, good performance (the best in series thus far), as well as plenty of useful exposure settings to help you capture great photos. With an MSRP of US$149 or less, I feel the Nikon Coolpix L11 offers an outstanding value for a camera in this category; just be sure you get a set if NiMH batteries and a large SD card right away!
