Very good
All in all, the HC5000 is a successful throw, which offers the buyer an awful lot for his money. We can only recommend a personal demonstration with a specialist dealer in your proximity. But be aware: there is no guarantee that you will not spontaneously leave the shop with € 3990,-- less on your bank account and a cardboard box under your arm!

Distinctive product
3 out of 3 users found this review usefulThis is not necessarily a budget projector, but considering the advanced features and "convenience package" Mitsubishi throws in with motorized lens shift, focus and zoom - not to mention the sleek lines and beautiful housing - you do indeed have a value product. One must also consider the calibration results - if this is consistent across all models, then the HC5000 gets my complete thumbs up as a "must-see" product and one of the nicest pictures I've witnessed this year. In a sea of new 1080p projectors being released this year, Mitsubishi has a distinctive product that sets it apart as a leader. If you're shopping for a 1080p model you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you're a custom installer this unit should be on your very short list as it's certain to make your customers ecstatic.

Remarkable
3 out of 3 users found this review usefulWith the HC5000, Mitsubishi has done a great deal more than just hit a leading edge, low price point with 1080p. The projector is remarkable for its beautifully natural picture quality, as well as a host of features that makes it about as user friendly and easy to install as any projector out there. We are very pleased to give the HC5000 our strongest possible recommendation, and we offer our warmest congratulations to the product managers and engineers at Mitsubishi for a job exceedingly well done.

Fairly attractive projector
3 out of 3 users found this review usefulOverall the HC5000BL is a fairly attractive projector. The black finish should work for most people placing the projector in their theaters (which hopefully have dark ceilings).

Outstanding performer
3 out of 3 users found this review usefulMitsubishi’s HC5000 is an outstanding performer, and the fact that it costs only $4,500 is a welcome surprise (and kinda hard to believe!). Obviously, the engineers at Mitsubishi worked very hard to address the image quality parameters that really matter — grayscale performance and color accuracy. The Silicon Optix video processing is just the icing on the cake.

Stylish and affordable
Although stylish and affordable for a 1080p projector, the Mitsubishi HC5000's black level failings prevent it from earning our recommendation.

Minor quirks but the picture is great
After 3 days from purchase the picture disappeared, The sound was there and the online TV guide worked; but on the channels there was no picture. I looked on the internet for a solution and all I needed to do was unplug the tv from the electrical outlet wait 1 minute and plug it back in. This solution worked. I still do not know what caused it not to work. two things I do not like about this tv is the voice control it's not as gradual as it could be, and when changing channels it goes dark for a second before the channels appears. Not sure if it's a fuction of this tv or all DLP tv's. Other that that the picture is great.

One of the best TV
This is one of the best TVs we have seen and we look at allot of them. The colors are bright and vivid. Dark scene detail is impressive and HD looks real. But to get the most our of this TV you'll need to invest in a Calibration DVD or have it professionally calibrated. The only real complaints we have are that its a bit expensive and it needs the afore mentioned calibration support.

Mitsubishi OWNS the Wide Screen HD Arena
They call themselves the Wide Screen people, but they are also THE High Definition People! This set is spectacular! Upgraded to this 65" from a WS-55111 55" HD (720i) that I've had for the past three years. The Net Command set-up is not as customizable as before, but it does it all just fine. The new built-in TV Guide function is like on-board Tivo and works just the same. The Brilliant picture is incredible and the 1080p is the best on the market. Simple plug & play (Simplay HD) of all of my components, and the set can interface with my Pioneer Elite A/V Receiver almost like it was made for it. Digitally connects via HDMI or IEEE to everything, and the set hosts a lot of analog accessabilty, as well. A tad bit pricey, but worth every dollar. Take a look at the stand for this model. Very nice styling and really fuctional.

Expensive but worth the price
The Mitsubishi WD-65831 may be expensive, but its standout picture quality, sleek design, and superb feature set make it worth the price to high-end buyers.
