The Journi is one sexy, well-designed product. It folds up into a beautiful leather carrying case that's easy to pack because it's only about 6.5 by 10 by 1.3 inches. But it sounds terrible, so only buy this product if you're looking for something stylish—and audio performance really isn't a concern.

As with all iPods before it, this one looks great. The finish is shiny and - although prone to fingerprints and smudging - gives the iPod a very clean, sophisticated look. The front face is made of a crystal clear plastic on top of a layer of shiny black plastic - and the back is mirror polished metal as with previous iPods.
One difference with this new model is that only the back of the device has rounded corner edges while the front edges have been squared off at right angles. This change makes the iPod somewhat easier to hold in my opinion since there arent so many slippery rounded edges.

This new, 5th generation unit has a beautiful, bright, sharp, color screen, is less than half the thickness of the old unit and considerably lighter, holds an extra 10 GB of content, plays videos, boasts much better battery life? and cost half the price. Furthermore, the iPod menu system has vastly improved. Tracks now display album art; a pretty touch, indeed. There's a new search feature: finally, you can navigate to a track by entering a term into a search field by clicking on letters of the alphabet. Also, when you begin to scroll quickly through a category, an index feature appears whereby the first letter of the part of the list you're in pops up; think of the old-fashioned, alphabetized page tabs that help you find your place in a paper dictionary, and you'll sort of get the idea. Both of these features are very clever and long-needed additions to the much-admired iPod user interface. The screen, while small, is sharp and very bright and vivid. It displays photos (which you can set to sync automatically with iPhoto on the Mac) and video content in a very pleasing way

I received the Apple iPod Video 30GB as a Christmas gift. Hands down, this is the best player I have ever owned. There is very little not to like about this player. At first, I thought that the screen was too small to properly watch video. The screen is very clear and bright, and you can watch movies and TV shows easily. Even better, you can get cables (from Apple or other vendors) that will plug into the RCA jacks on your TV and let you play your iPod on your TV. In other words, the iPod can replace your DVD player and DVD's -- everything all in one tiny, palm-sized unit.

The 2 gb capacity, intuitive controls, color screen, and sleek exterior make the ipod Nano a tempting option for the $149.When you buy a product from Apple, it is incredibly difficult to find design flaws, and the iPod Nano is no exception. The user interface, as well as the "sexy" design, is not matched by any competitor, and this alone is worth the extra price premium associated with the iPod benchmark.

I love it, simple as that. Yes the initial transfer of your music collection from CD to i-pod is time consuming but as i-tunes retrieves track and artist names from online it really is only a matter of changing CD`s. I have now completed this operation and have 3633 songs on my i-pod taking up 12.51 GB ? so I still have over 25 GB of empty space to fill, safe to say that will take me several years. Battery life could be better but the eight-ish hours I manage to squeeze from it is a lot of music to listen to in one day. Four stars out of five from me.

The iPod is a great device and is still deservedly considered by many, including me, to be the best in its genre. It is a pleasure to use a device that has been designed with the user in mind. Other players I have tried, although technically better that the iPod in some respects, and with more features, have invariably been lacking in design. The iPod is still the one to beat, and the new model helps assert its position at the head of the pack.

I would recommend the 40 G IPod to anyone who is looking for an easy way to transport and store pretty much an entire collection of music.

The good: Wirelessly transmits iPod music to your home stereo; lets you use iPod interface to navigate your music; digital audio transmission is free of distortion and interference; ultrasimple setup and operation. The bottom line: The Belkin TuneStage makes it easy to play back your iPod's music over your home stereo.
