I've had the 719 for about three months now, and I'm pleased with it. Fan noise is quite low, expecially in the Eco mode. I use it for DVDs, HDTV (local HD channels), and occasionally with my laptop. One feature I liked in the specs was the 1.93:1 lens, which allows me to get almost a 60" wide picture with just the 110" throw in my library. Most others in this price range have 1.2:1. The case is plastic, so I probably wouldn't select this projector for business travel use. For television viewing, it is bright enough to be used in my location without completely pulling the blinds; with movies, you will need to darken the room to see the full range of color/contrast. I expect that's true of all projectors.

The EP719 is a very small, very bright XGA projector. Nearly nonexistent fan noise and monitor loop-through make it ideal for mobile presentation or classroom use. And at street prices around $1000, the EP719 is a bargain that you shouldn't miss.

Optoma 719 was a decent DLP projector that is a good choice for those with the setup that can handle the longer throw distance (vs. LCD) and who are looking for general purpose projector. If you are a hard-core movie buff or simply have money to burn then by all means purchase a higher end DLP or LCD projector. At then end of the day for me the best choice was the Epson 76c since I got exactly what I was looking for with no changes to my existing mounting setup!
