Nikon has created very nice camera
1 out of 1 users found this review usefulNikon has created a very nice 6-megapixel entry-level model. It's compact, offers great image quality, good performance (the best in series thus far), as well as plenty of useful exposure settings to help you capture great photos. With an MSRP of US$149 or less, I feel the Nikon Coolpix L11 offers an outstanding value for a camera in this category; just be sure you get a set if NiMH batteries and a large SD card right away!

A great camera for the money...and even for more money
1 out of 1 users found this review usefulThis is a great camera. I have used and owned several cameras, including three Canons (all great), a Panasonic (not so great), and now this one. Picture quality - Obviously, this is why you buy a camera. I would never buy a camera from a company that isn't famous for them, such as Samsung. I compared the Nikon L11 to the Canon A550/560 since these two are really the best budget buys out there. This is a great camera that I would recommend to anyone.

Decent but not outstanding
A decent but not outstanding unit, the Coolpix L11 will suit those who are after a compact camera to throw in their pocket or bag and whip out at parties.

Decent camera
1 out of 1 users found this review usefulSome people like to take pictures and not have to worry about changing anything on the camera to make sure they get a good picture and if that's you, then this is a decent camera to suit your requirements. It has more than enough features to cope with whatever it will have thrown at it, so try not to expect too much and it will surprise you. The camera is a decent build and fairly laden with features for the price, but with the Canon and Olympus as competitiors, they both offer slightly more.

Strong performer in both indoor and outdoor shots
Nikon's Coolpix L11 delivers good performance and a sleek design with a budget-friendly price tag. This 6-MP shooter includes a 3X optical zoom, a 2.4-inch LCD, 16 scene modes, in-camera cropping, red-eye removal, and manual controls (including an ISO setting of 800).

Simple and affordable
The virtue of this well-balanced compact camera is its simplicity. You could hand this to anyone and they'd be able to take pictures, video or record a voice memo. They'd know just how to hold it and which button to press to get a picture. Slide the Mode switch and they could take movies. And show them the Scene mode for a Voice Memo and they'd be able to record their thoughts, too. As a bonus, it offers several key Nikon technologies, including Face-Priority Auto Focus, that are really quite useful. It's a nice little package, a real camera, at a very affordable price.

Decent budget camera
The Nikon Coolpix L11 is a decent budget camera, if you can overlook its scant manual controls.

Nikon D40 w/18mm-to-55mm lens Review
The good: Excellent feel and compact size; very customizable menu architecture; nice guidance for dSLR newbies; excellent noise characteristics for high-ISO shots. The bottom line: The Nikon D40 is a great transition camera for going from point-and-shoot to your first dSLR.

Nikon D40 Digital Camera Review
The Nikon D40 is primarily meant for consumers who want more than a compact camera. In the profile of the target group, Nikon sees a family person between 30 and 70 years old. The typical user of the D40 is looking for a camera that stimulates creative qualities and reacts quicker than a compact camera. Nikon has managed to keep the D40 remarkably compact, and makes a great combination together with the new AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G II ED lens. If you set the ultra compact new SB-400 flash on top, you have an ideal set that you can take with you everywhere. Despite the compact format, the Nikon D40 has a 2.5-inch screen.
