    • Nintendo DS Lite Console

The smaller, sleeker version of the original Nintendo DS, the Nintendo DS Lite combines dual screen action with Touch Screen interaction, providing the player with a unique gaming experience. The system also includes wireless communication technology, allowing gamers to join their friends in multiplayer games, or use the system's embedded PictoChat software to send messages and drawings to each other.

Pros: Brilliantly Lit Screens, Great Line-up of Games, Compelling Software on the Way, Dual Screen Setup
Cons: Lame Friend Codes Online Interface, Speakers are not Loud Enough
How the DS Lite Came to Be... When the orignal Nintendo DS launched in 2004 it was met with more than a little skepticism. This was mainly due to the unorthodox features of the little handheld; it featured two screens, one of them being a touch...

    • Nintendo DS Lite (polar white) Rated 8/10

The good: The Nintendo DS Lite is slimmer and much sleeker that the original DS. The device employs innovative dual-screen and microphone-enabled gameplay as well as Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities, allowing for a growing list of original and fun games that you can't play on any other system. In addition, the system is backward-compatible with almost every GBA title. All these additions come without increasing the price or decreasing the features of the original DS. The bottom line: With a slick new design, brighter screens, and a growing library of fun and innovative games, the Nintendo DS Lite is an impressive improvement over the original DS.

The DS Lite looks stunning, feels great in the hand and has a catalogue of great, if sometimes surreal games. If you’ve been putting off buying a Nintendo DS because you thought it was ugly, you don’t have that excuse anymore.

    • Nintendo DS Lite review by PC Magazine

The Bottom line : The new, improved Nintendo DS Lite is worth the cost of the upgrade for fans of the original DS portable gaming device. It retains all the qualities that made the DS so much fun, and the bright new screens make a significant difference in the look of the games.

    • Amazon.com: Nintendo DS Lite - Polar White

The DS lite is an excellent update to the original ds. The size is a lot smaller and the brighter screen makes more of a difference than I thought it would. All of the colors seem much more vibrant. Also, this looks a lot more stylish than the old clucky DS. This one looks more like an Ipod. The stylus is thicker therefore making it more comfortable to hold. The microphone has also been moved to the middle of the system instead of the bottom right hand corner. This makes it easier to use while playing games like Brain Age. The battery life is also better, at least if you play with the same amount of light as the original.

The touch pen is slightly longer, and those tacky groves on the DS ver 1.0 are gone. The mic, thankfully, has been moved to the portable's center. The machine looks and feels well thought out.

    • Nintendo DS Lite Review - Pocket-lint.co.uk

The new console is region-free and supports multiple languages. Fitting in with the "iPod generation" and for that matter the new MacBook generation as well, the new slimmer DS Lite has been refined, glossed up, had its screen upgraded and even had a re-working of its buttons.

    • NintendoWorldReport - DS Review: Nintendo DS Lite

The Nintendo DS Lite (DSL) is a smart, eye-catching update to the original Nintendo DS (NDS) that manages to add some important upgrades to functionality. Whether it's worth paying for another system just depends on your level of dissatisfaction with the old unit, but DS hold-outs should absolutely go straight to the DSL.
