Sony's " W-Series " HDTVs offer a terrific combination of performance and value — they're Sony's best flat-panel models without the premium " XBR " badge. The KDL-52W3000 features the highest screen resolution available — 1920 x 1080 pixels, or " 1080p " — which is necessary if you want to see all the detail in all of your high-definition sources. On 50 " -and-larger screens with " 720p " resolution, we've seen the " screen door effect " limit how close you can sit, but it's not an issue for 1080p models.
