Forget the Chocolate. This is the sweetest V Cast phone.Combining the style of the RAZR with the music capabilities of the Chocolate (minus the finicky controls), the VX8600 is a super-skinny, shiny black flip phone that is as tasty on the outside as it is on the inside. Nicknamed by some the ...

The LG VX8600 by Verizon Wireless is considered to be the “flip version” of the popular Chocolate phone that was introduced this past summer. Both phones look to be in the same family, due to the shiny black plastic, chrome trim, and touch-sensitive music control buttons. The VX8600 features dual color displays, 1.3MP CMOS camera, Bluetooth, music player, and MicroSD card slot.

The VX8600's glossy piano black case is a fingerprint's dream, but even spotted with prints the phone retains its classy gloss, thanks to the gleaming chrome band that rings the top shell. The screens look sharp and detailed, especially the 65,000-color external screen, which doubles as a spare viewfinder for the camera and camcorder. Finally, the menu on the VX8600, while not quite as slick as the Chocolate's all-Flash interface, is still a breath of fresh air compared to the standard Verizon Wireless menu setup.

The LG VX8600 is a great handset option for those of you looking for music on your phone. It is slim, fast, and has a good speaker and picture quality (though on 1.3 megapixels). But be weary of a keypad that you love or hate.

The LG VX8600 looks simply gorgeous. I love the sleek, shiny exterior with its metallic trim. The phone itself is just beautiful and very well-made. The screen is also great, beautiful clarity and vibrant colors. (220 x 176 Pixels, 262,000+ Colors) The numeric keypad is one solid piece with buttons flush to the surface, so you can't really dial by feel, but it does minimize dirt getting into the nooks and crannies. I like it just fine, I don't have any problems with it at all. The LG VX8600 is one of the best phones out there of its kind. It is certainly the best *looking* phone, and I am really impressed by its sound quality and features.

Have had the LG VX8600 phone now for a couple of days and all I can say is that its awesome. The slim design makes it so its not bulky in your pockets, not to mention it looks pretty slick and girls at the clubs dig it. Battery life is ok, not great but overall everything else is awesome, id recommend this phone to anyone.

The good: The LG VX8600 is a beautiful phone that's both elegant and slim. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, stereo Bluetooth, built-in GPS, and support for V Cast Music and V Cast Video. The bottom line: The LG VX8600 is a stylish successor to the LG VX8500 Chocolate, and, dare we say, a lot nicer in terms of navigation and feel. If you're wary of the Chocolate's quirky touchpad but still want a Chocolate-like phone in a clamshell design, you could do well to give the VX8600 a try.
