Pros: Appearance is nice.
Cons: Browser performance insufferable.
When was the last time you considered a Palm/Treo? As cell phones converge, the personal information manager (as a stand-alone device) is dying as well. The concept of a personal information manager, indeed the whole bases for the Palm operating system...

A nicely priced smart phone that's both user - and pocket-friendly... An incremental update to the Treo 650, the Treo 680 is still the easiest smartphone to use. It will appeal to new smartphone users but not to the tech-savvy

Outside of unlearning and relearning a few things, the Treo 680 is both uninspiring and inspiring at the same time. If your expectation is an upgrade to something much better than the Treo 650, you will be very disappointed. The specs are not much better in terms of hardware though the extra memory is getting put to use. And if you are used to the software side of things, you might find that you will not like some of the different ways that the 680 does things... check out this page for a first impression review on this lovely treo.

The device delivers good receiving quality. The default ring tones sound quite loud, so it’s next to impossible to miss a call even in a crowded and noisy room. The silent alert is average strength-wise... Palm has set out to launch an entry-level solution aiming at the mass market... To make the price lower, over at Palm they have used an amplified outdated platform, morally outmoded operating system; on top of that the Treo 680 is produced on Inventec's factories, rather than on HTC's ones - it's for the sake of getting the price lower as well... check out this page for an elaborate and excellent review on this awesome PDA.

The Treo 680 delivers the same touch-screen, processor, memory, keyboard and screen as the Treo 700p. It adds improved browsing in a smaller, lighter, more balanced package without forcing the move to mini-SD cards. The UI has been tweaked to be the easiest Treo to navigate; add in the 90-days of unlimited free tech support by a dedicated Treo 680 staff, and the overall experience and package are going to appeal to people who have been intimidated by smartphones up to now.

Even before it's available, the Treo 680 is a controversial device perhaps the most controversial phone that Palm has talked about this year. It's intended to be an upgrade for Treo 650 users... the 680 has a new form factor. The phone's antenna is now an internal antenna this is sure to please phone droppers worldwide. The new internal antenna gets better radio antenna reception than the previous Treos with external antennae. The phone is slimmer and the sides have small grooves which are more for aesthetics than for grip... this page has a very explanatory review on this awesome Palm treo.
