The good: Affordable price; fast mobile performance; reinforced case; plenty of component options, such as Intel Core Duo processors; excellent security and wireless connectivity features, such as a fingerprint sensor and EV-DO WWAN card; outstanding service and support. The bottom line: With good performance and a complete range of connectivity options, the new thin-and-light Latitude D620 will keep you in business when you're away from the desk, but its battery life is merely average.

Dell packs an excellent mix of features into a lightweight five-pound frame, including the fastest Verizon Wireless EV-DO connectivity. Add in a host of security options and blazing dual-core performance, and the $1,905 D620 is the best choice for businesses both large and small. The D620's ergonomics are top-notch. The full-sized keyboard has a good feel (even if it's a bit mushy), and unlike some past Latitudes, key clicks are quiet.

Despite the minor issues I have with the laptop, I would still stick with my choice. Considering my narrow requirements, this was the best choice. I’m very happy with the performance. The dual core processor makes the machine very responsive.

Overall, the Latitude D620 is what you’d expect from Dell—a well-built, well-configured enterprise laptop. If you need the integrated smart-card reader, it’s your choice. If not, however, take a look at the HP Compaq nc6320 —a very similar system for a little bit less.

Bought this to use in office as desktop with docking station and mobile use during travel. Wireless work good and wired network can be used with or without docking station. Wireless automatically turn off to save battery when wire network is used. Overall great laptop for desktop replacement and multimedia with external DVI LCD.

The Dell Latitude D620 is a 14-inch widescreen business notebook equipped with the latest Intel Core Duo processor. The D620 replaces the D610 and provides quite an overhaul in both design change and internal components. The new industrial charcoal grey and black look of the D620 conveys its strong build, which Dell calls "Road Ready", and with a slew of available built-in wireless communications this notebook is road ready in more ways than one.

The good: Flexible configuration; shock-mounted hard drive; rugged, spill-proof design. The bottom line: Dell gives a popular system a rugged makeover with the Latitude ATG D620, making heavy-duty laptops much more accessible for business and industrial users.
