Pros: Everything is great if it works
Cons: Screen gets corrupted in the heat of the sun
Well, I bought it from Amazon and I am returning it back to them. It worked perfectly for exactly two days but lines started coming through the screen making it unreadable. I heard and should have listened that Garmin has this problem with their...

This product is the best thing to have when you have a business that relies on finding addresses. It is very easy to use, when you type in addresses, it gives you many possible streets until you find the right one. It is very easy to upgrade. It also gives you options to find businesses of any kind within a certain area. I want to buy another for my other vehicle. Excellent brand

This is my second Garmin product. My first was the 2610, which I loved. I decided to upgrade to the 550C rather that update the maps in the 2610.One thing that stands out in the 550C is the display. I tried a number of other units, and the 550C display is much brighter and much less apt to be faded out in the sunlight glare. I didn't think I would use the traffic feature, however after the free trial, I subscribed to it. It has helped me out in a jam many times. The 550C is extremely simple to use right out of the box. It is extremely easy to find locations or addresses. We were in Pennsylvania looking for something to do and searched on wineries and we visied 7 or 8 in the afternoon. If you are in an area and looking for something to do, just search attractions and poof, you can find plenty to do in the area.It so cool to have these moving maps with you. Ever feel like you want to explore somewhere but were afraid you'd never find your way back to the highway. You can go anywhere and always find you way back.Ever on a long trip and looking for something to eat. This unit will help you find something fast then take you right back to where you were going. The only minuses that I have found is that Garmin has made it so easy to use, they have left out a few of the customization features I liked in my 2610. The 550C has the ability to have only one way point in addition t o the destination, and does not have the ability to avoid specific areas when routing. You cannot customize the screen like you can with the 2610.All in all, I love my unit, it has really made driving run and a lot

The unit is extremely user friendly and feature rich. In the Metro DC area, the navigation has been very good with the traffic avoidance capability a nice feature. I have been frustrated on only one occasion where after asking it to find me an alternate route around a backup of a few miles, it had me exit, take a side road, then get right back on the congested road. The Bluetooth interface with my Motorola RAZR V3M works flawlessly. With the phone in my pocket, it "sees" the phone within 10 seconds and automatically populates the GPS' phone book and call history.

The good: The Garmin StreetPilot c550 offers real-time traffic information, Bluetooth, and MP3 playback. The compact GPS device also has an accurate receiver and text-to-speech functionality. The bottom line: The Garmin StreetPilot c550 offers accurate driving directions, integrated Bluetooth, and real-time traffic info in one slick package.

The c550 is a portable GPS with a 3.5-inch QVGA touch screen. The only hardware controls on the device are the power switch and the volume control. The most visible new feature of the c550 is the new antiglare screen, which uses the same technology as that found on the higher-priced 2700 series. It is nonreflective, has a wide viewing angle, and is visible even in bright sunlight.

Like all C-series StreetPilots, the C550 is compact enough to go anywhere, and easily fits in a suitcase. The small but very usable size is a great size for packing, yet with a 3.5 inch screen, it’s about as small as you would want to go for easy readability and data entry using a touch screen. The navigation on the C550 was rock solid, and helped me save time.

The portable StreetPilot c550 comes ready-to-go right out of the box with preloaded maps and plenty of options. This navigator delivers the same, easy-to-use, affordable navigation as Garmin's popular selling c300 series with many enhancements like Bluetooth wireless technology with hands-free calling, an integrated traffic receiver, MP3 player, plus much more.
