The APC Has Worked Flawlessly For Over 2 Years

I'm not sure what happened with flagday1960's APC UPS, but I have had mine for over 2 years and it has performed flawlessly. Whenever I've had an electrical power outage, the APC's software notifies me that it has reverted to battery power, and informs when commercial electrical power has been restored. I can view the stats for my UPS - when and how long the last "event" (battery power activation) occurred, and the UPS current charge status. My 350R has only 6 outlets - 3 battery/surge and 3 surge, the current 350 model provides 8 outlets - 4 of each. While I can replace the internal battery of my 350R when it does die and is unrechargeable, I'll likely buy a new 350R in the near future, primarily for the extra 2 outlets.

I prefer APC UPS devices over other brands since I believe they use superior batteries (i.e., will last significantly longer). For its limited capacity, this model has a LOT of outlets (8 total, 4 surge only, 4 surge+battery), plus there are two outlets (one of each type) for large A/C adapters. Software isn't fancy, but does the job. Only wish it supported a test option. Since it doesn't, you have to pull the power cord to verify the unit is working properly or as expected.

This is the first UPS I have purchased. I haven't tested it yet during a real blackout but it seems like it does the job, allowing me sufficent time to save any important documents or data and safely shutdown my PC.I mainly bought this because the electricity in my house frequently goes off for a brief moment (~1-3 seconds) and comes back on. All my clocks need to be reset, and I'm sure this causes a lof of fragmented data when the PC goes down and up instantly. So far I haven't encountered this problem so I can't comment on its performance.

Great unit, just got it instuled and love the back up software that alows you to monitor what is going on, and you can even turn the buzzer off which is a big plus from my old belkin ( if the power is off i think i will know it). Great unit for only $30!!!!

Pros: I've had this product for at least 5 years and never have had a problem with it. It has saved my computer on several occasions with the frequent power outtages in my area in the past year. I would recommend it to anyone! Especially at this price, it was $100 when I purchased it years ago.

This unit is probably more than enough for your average consumer concerned about power outages for their computers. However, I would probably recommend more expensive model, with a longer battery running time for the "power user."
