I love this camera but it does nothing for you. What I mean by that, is that in order to get a good photograph, you MUST set the camera up correctly

The viewfinder is large and beautiful, making it easy to compose your shot and evaluate focus. The 5D body is compact (compared to the 1D), which makes it easier to store in a pack or carry for long hikes. Those who simply desire full-frame DSLR, and do not need the weather sealing feature of the 1Ds will also enjoy the 5D.

The Canon EOS-5D is a full-frame, 12.8 Megapixel camera that fits in between the EOS-20D and EOS-1Ds Mk II cameras. The full-frame term means that there's no focal length conversion (often called a field-of-view crop factor) to worry about. It's hard not to like the EOS-5D. It offers amazing performance and photo quality and a full-frame sensor in a body that doesn't weigh almost three pounds (like the 1Ds Mk II). If you want a camera that lets your lenses be used as intended (without any crop factors) then it may be worth spending the extra cash on the 5D over the 20D. If all this full-frame isn't too important to you, the 20D will probably satisfy you as well. Whichever one you choose you'll have an excellent digital SLR.

Intermediate- and experienced-level photographers looking for a digital camera that provides a near-professional look, feel, and results will appreciate the Canon EOS 5D SLR model. This digital camera carries a hefty price tag, but its performance and image quality are outstanding and far beyond what you'll find with consumer-level models.

Overall, I am wildly happy the the EOS-5D. The build quality of the camera is phenomenal. I have only had the camera for about 1 week, but I have not found any signicant issues or limitations. In all areas, I have tried it I find it to be a significant upgrade to my 20D. I would highly recommend the camera to anyone who is a serious amature (only reason for specifying serious amatuer is the cost).
