Pros: Slick design, good range, long battery life, and more..
Cons: None...
I recently switch my wireless service provider and as a result bought two new phones (one for me and the other for my wife). The one I use is a LG VX8100 (Bluetooth capable) and my wife & #146s phone is a Samsung A670 (no Bluetooth). So...

I've owned two previous Bluetooth headsets, and I liked this one the least. I'd say this was primarily because it didn't fit my ear well...the speaker didn't fit over the hole in my ear, but a little bit above it. And it isn't adjustable if it doesn't fi t. So volume was low unless I used my hand to push it down while talking (so much for "hands free").

The good: Comfortable fit; attractive design; decent sound quality. The bottom line: The Motorola HS850 offers Bluetooth fans a stylish, well-performing headset that you won't mind wearing.

The sound quality is unequaled. The party on the other end of the line will never know you're on a headset, calls are clear and they sound like a wired phone/headset. The caveat is that in windy conditions, it will be impossible to use, but so will be a wired headset, so there's no way around that situation. This unit is bigger (longer) than the HS820, since it incorporates a boom, which, when extended, increases the overall lenght to 3.3 inches long, making it more noticeable then other integrated units. It also feels slightly heavier, but not by much.

Audio quality on the HS810 is decent. The sound is clear in general, but lacking a bit of dynamic range. The HS850 is a great headset. Motorola left what worked well enough alone, and gave us more talk time as a bonus. I give it a "Highly Recommended" rating.

The difference between the HS850 and the older HS810 is the slight change in design (color), better volume, and longer battery life. The HS810 was silver whereas the new HS850 is grey. The HS850 has better battery life and this could be a result of the newer version or just improved rechargeable battery technology. Depending on the amount of usage this unit will give you six to eight hours of talk time; this is a longest any Bluetooth (rechargeable) headset with give you.

Walking around the house this is great! You flip open the boom and it's on...not much of a wait at all. It's light and comfortable. If I'm in the car with all the road noise, I have some trouble hearing. And if you turn the volume up all the way, its too much for the tiny speaker. It distorts and rattles.

The voice dialing worked to perfection. When on the phone with others, I could easily walk 20 feet away with no static. In fact, people never knew I was talking on a cordless headset. You could wear this headset all day, as I did, without getting ear fatigue. It is very light and the earloop doesn?t pinch. I wanted to tighten the loop around my ear though?it just didn?t as secure as I wanted. I even shook my head to see if I could make it fly off, but it stayed put. For those of you with glasses or who wear sunglasses often, the HS850 will not get in the way at all.

The HS850 is a well-made mobile headset offering wireless connectivity with Bluetooth phones. The boom microphone flips down, engaging or hanging up on the call, which also saves on battery life. And this is the truly exceptional thing about the phone. Though it is only 20 grams total in weight, the HS850 delivers 8 hours of talk time or 200 hours of standby before recharging is required. This is far better than industry standards.

The HS850 handles common tasks, including voice dialing, redialing, and putting calls on hold. As with most Bluetooth headsets, headset and hands-free modes are both supported. The HS850 could use a stronger maximum volume, and it was more receptive to wind noise than most.
