Firstly, "Fijación Oral" is without a doubt better than Shakira's last album, "Laundry Service". Unlike that however, the entire album is sung in Spanish and generally a bit more interesting. I get the impression that this album cost a lot, because it sounds very well produced and polished. It also seems to be trying to impress everyone, which is ultimately the album's biggest fault. I think Shakira has had the intention of mixing a bit of everything into one album and the result is varied. I don't see why she felt this necessary to be honest, considering her previous Spanish album ("Dónde Están Los Ladrones?") sold like hot cakes without moving away from a definite Latin feel.

This is one album anyone can listen to over and over again! Every song contains a different mood and genre, suiting every person! Even though it has just been released within Australia, it has made a huge impact on the music industry. Shakira has come a long way, and I hope that she keeps her love for music, as we all have loved listening to her beautiful latin-american inspiring music!! Well Done Shaki!!

I've been a Shakira fan for many many years. My obsession started with Ojos Asi and from then it just kept getting bigger and bigger. I've never heard anyone that has been able to stop me dead in my tracks with just one sentence. And the best part is I barely speak a word of Spanish! True she isn't the Celine Dion of Latin music, but Shakira just has the thing about her that makes you want to listen even if you can't comprehend!

Shakira is a completely extraordinary artist in the latin/pop genre. I do not speak Spanish, but I am learning in school. I did not even know that Shakira eexisted until a teacher mentioned her, and I got the album to practice hearing and understanding it, and this has actually made me become a big fan of her! Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 is completely amazing, and I went out and bought "Oral Fixation Vol. 2" along with more of her CD's. Overall, I would give Shakira a 10/10 on almost any album and any song that she sings.
