Toshiba 32HL66 32 in. HDTV LCD TV

The 32HL66 is fitted with Toshiba's REGZA Premium LCD Hi-Speed Cinespeed Panel. This panel offers response times that are among the best in the industrm (8ms or less), giving you plenty of power for even the most demanding home theater enthusiast. The 32HL66 also incorporates Hi-Speed PixelPure Hi-Bit Digital Video Processing. Using 12-bit picture processing (up to 14-bit internally), it can create 4096 steps of gradation (steps between the whitest white, to the blackest black), and will also incorporate improvements in areas such as: real speed progressive scanning, video noise reduction, sharpness, and gamma control to set a new standard for picture quality. The 32HL66 features built-in ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuners, allowing tuning of off-air, and unscrambled HD cable channels, for increased flexibility.

We took the plunge this Christmas and upgraded our old 25 inch t.v. to a modern, sleek, LCD flat screen television. My husband had insisted a flat panel would be good enough, until he went into the electronics store. What is it with men & electronics?...

This is the LCD to buy!!!

I held off buying an LCD TV for a few reasons. The main one was that whenever I looked at them in the store motion scenes appeared to blur. Another negative was that I heard repeatedly that standard signals looked weak. When I saw this Toshiba I was intrigued by the 8 ms fast response time. I have also had good experiences with other Toshiba products. The bad thing was that there are no reviews of this TV on the internet yet! Well, as to my first concern...there is no problem with fast motion on this TV, it is as smooth as a tube. The standard definition programming watched through digital cable is almost as good as my tube TV but a hair worse. VCR tapes look pretty good but don't try to stretch the image, it shows the weakness of the format. DVD's look really goo d through a standard DVD player without any upconversion. Where this TV shines is with HD programming. The picture is absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend this TV.
