If you want a 7.2-Megapixel responsive "monster zoom" camera, this Panasonic FZ8 is an excellent choice. With 12x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, fast f2.8-3.1 Leica lens and responsive Venus III engine, for less than $310, The FZ8 clearly outperforms its current competitors. I highly recommend it. But if you need wide angle optics, check out the Fuji FinePix S6000fd.

Designed with creativity in mind, the FZ8 employs the same intuitive joystick control as appreciated in the FZ7 for manual adjustment of focusing and exposure setting.

The Panasonic Lumix FZ8 is pretty similar to its predecessor. The real changes have taken place inside the camera. The most striking difference is the upgrade from 6 to 7 Megapixels and the option for recording favorite moments in both JPEG and RAW format.
