Behold the latest wonder from LG, the LG-VX9400. This nifty little phone will be sold in the US for the Verizon network, and it will feature the MediaFLO (equivalent to the DMB, 1Seg or DVB-H). Take a look at my guide to know what other features this phone offers.

The phone is very light, and surprisingly slim, we expected more bulk from the first generation of true mobile TV phones. The screen swivels to landscape mode and clicks nicely into place, and though it isn't very large, we were happy to see video commandeering the entirety of the screen's real estate.

Behold the latest wonder from LG, the LG-VX9400. This nifty little phone will be sold in the US for the Verizon network, and it will feature the MediaFLO (equivalent to the DMB, 1Seg or DVB-H). Our American friends will be now able to enjoy the pleasure of watching TV wherever and whenever they want. Since we are talking about Verizon, this phone will use the CDMA network and more precisely - it will be EV-DO. The LG-VX9400 will also feature a 1.3Mpix camera, an Mp3 player, and Bluetooth.

Sporting a good feature set and unique design, the LG VX9400 is sure to turn heads wherever it is taken. On first glance, the LG VX9400 looks just like any other slider-style handset, but a quick twist of the screen reveals its most potent feature: landscape TV viewing in a comfortable form factor. While the handset is just 18.5mm (0.73") thick and weighs 140.6g (4.06oz), it includes full support of Verizon's Mobile TV service, including a full program guide. The LG VX9400's talents are not just limited to video, however, as the handset also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth v1.2, and compatibility with Verizon's other V CAST services such as V CAST Music and Video. A microSD memory expansion slot is provided to store all your media, and the soft-touch coated VX9400 includes instant messaging capability and speakerphone functionality.

The 2.5-inch display really makes a difference when viewing TV shows. There's a dedicated TV button that switches on the Mobile TV service immediately, and we managed to flip through TV channels with the same sort of speed you would surf channels with at home. There's also a sizable antenna, which can be extended and is supposed to improve TV reception.

If streaming short video clips isn't your idea of wireless TV, check out LG's VX9400, the first phone to tap into Verizon's new V CAST Mobile TV service. Powered by Qualcomm's MediaFLO technology, this handset features an easy-to-use program guide and lets you watch the most popular TV networks in real time. The VX9400 sports a retractable antenna for enhanced TV reception and a soft-touch coating for a comfy grip. You can receive voice calls and text messages while watching TV.
