This is such a handy device, and is so well executed, that you would be hard-pressed not to love it. The first thing I noticed about the Nuvi was its incredibly small size and weight. Take a look at my guide and you will surely fall for this device.

This is such a handy device, and is so well executed, that you would be hard-pressed not to love it. The first thing I noticed about the Nuvi was its incredibly small size and weight. I could not believe how light it was. The antenna is a flap that is raised from the back, maybe about the size of a matchbook. When raised the Nuvi immediately starts locking in on satellites, when lowered, the unit knows you are through navigating for a while. Intuitive and effective. Navigation on the Nuvi is very good, fast, and intuitive. It's no different from many of Garmin's other offerings in that regard. Some buildings and businesses that you would expect to be shown as POIs are not there, but most are.

Pros: Provides verbal navigation instructions. Utilizes WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) technology to achieve of an error margin of 3 meters or less. USB computer interface makes it possible to add new programs and maps as well as store previous trips and data. Designed for use in land-based vehicles. Has an internal antenna which is desirable for activities where an external antenna would get in the way.

The nuvi 360 is largely identical to its sibling the 350, but it costs $100 more and sports a Bluetooth phone interface that lets it double as a hands-free speaker phone. Like the nuvi 350, its language and travel guides are still optional, and it won't let you enter in a phone number when creating a new Favorite location, but these are minor gripes.

The unit itself is a slim device slightly larger than a pack of playing cards that sports a 3.5-inch touch screen and a folding out SiRFIII GPS antenna. The feature we do like however is the tourist guide of major European cities, and the nuvi 360 gives you information on galleries, museums and other major tourist attractions all at the touch of a couple of buttons.

The Nuvi 360 is a wonderful gadget - the Bluetooth is a welcome new feature over the 350. The 360 display is wonderful - you can see it even if you wear polarized sun glasses - very unique. The display gets a pink tint but remains readable. This is clearly a vehicle unit - no place to attach a lanyard, no way to hold it securely in the hand. Very fast (once it boots up) to secure satellite signals.
